Who We Are

Hamilton Living Water Ministry, Inc. offers free academic and enrichment after school and summer programs in the 4th ward of Hamilton for grades K-12.  HLWM serves a predominately Hispanic, lower income community. Spanish language skills are helpful but not required. Volunteers work in small groups with students to accurately complete homework assignments and improve language, literacy and math skills.  Volunteers are also needed to assist with creative writing, leading a special project such as enrichment activities (art, fitness, science, dance, soccer, basketball, gardening, a life skill or personal story).  Our children love guest speakers and groups to come and share their talent.  We welcome large school groups, youth groups, businesses and individuals.   We also need help with meals, clerical, grounds and maintenance or sorting donations. A background check and an online orientation will be required. Please see the needs/opportunities page for more information.  Visit our website under the VOLUNTEERS TAB for the needed background check and online orientation information. These steps must completed before you start volunteering: Volunteer documents/background check/orientation link.  Volunteer one day or as much as your time allows!  Volunteers must be at least 15 years old to volunteer.

Our Neighborhood Service Center, provides a variety of services and referrals to connect individuals and families with valuable resources, during their time of need. Most require written and oral translation services. No appointment is needed. Referrals often include prenatal, medical, food, shelter or for other basic needs. Adult programs are brought to residents to address diabetes, food and nutrition, domestic abuse, education and other relevant topics. Individuals have access to a phone, fax, copier and computers. Several programs and outreach events are offered throughout the year. Bilingual staff are always available to serve those walking through our doors and to other agencies and individuals that need assistance communicating with Spanish speaking clients.

We currently have needs for a volunteer to assist with coordinating volunteers and also marketing and social media.  Both volunteer positions can be done from your home or office.

If you have items that you no longer need, (for children, teens and families-household, art supplies, school supplies games, clothing...) we will gladly accept them.  If you would like to plan a large one time volunteer event, give us a call.
