Who We Are

The mission of MetroParks of Butler County is to provide an exceptional park system that maximizes the community's quality of life through conservation, education, and recreation.

MetroParks of Butler County offers residents in the county and surrounding areas, outdoor space, and recreation at 14 parks and approximately 5,000 acres across the county. MetroParks began in 1955, when a group of concerned citizens came together with the common purpose to preserve and restore natural areas in Butler County and formed the Butler County Park Board. Today, park customer/owners can take joy in leisure and recreational activities happening in all of our MetroParks!

What We Do

Share your talents, learn new skills, and meet dedicated people like yourself through our volunteer opportunities! As a volunteer for MetroParks of Butler County, you are supporting your local recreational areas, conservation and restoration efforts, educational programs, and more for our community now and for generations to come.

Our volunteer opportunities can be as different as the MetroParks themselves! You can get involved with various ongoing and one-time opportunities as an individual volunteer or as a team. Our opportunities offer experiences in projects and programs like invasive species removal, birding hikes, farm animal care, garden management, historical research, photography at events, nature playscapes, trail maintenance, and more.

Service learning, volunteer internships, one-time and ongoing opportunities are all available. Organizations and people of all ages are welcome.
