Volunteer: Alive past 25 -- Traffic Safety CheerleadersThe leading cause of death for teens is traffic crashes. In 2018 in Butler County 11 out of 30 of our fatal traffic crashes were of someone under the age of 25. You can be the difference in someone making a life-saving decision that will help them live past age 25. Butler County Safe Communities is looking for individuals passionate about making and keeping our roads safer. The ideal candidates are people who have a personal experience or story of being in a traffic crash, surviving a life threatening crash, and/or having a friend or family member who survived or was killed in a crash. We're looking for creative, clever ways to share messages throughout the year that will reach people of all age groups, particularly drivers under age 25 utilizing multiple channels (social media, community gathering, campaigns, events, etc). Volunteer: Youth Coalition VolunteerThe Safety Council of Southwestern Ohio is looking for motivated, self-directed individuals to volunteer for our Youth Coalition. The ideal candidates are people who are passionate about mental health, substance abuse (especially marijuana) prevention, and are excited to empower youth to make healthy decisions.The Coalition for a Healthy Middletown was founded in 2008 from a collective vision of community partners as an effort to mobilize the community to address the threat of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs for youth. The Coalition aims to reduce adolescent substance abuse and increase mental health awareness in the Middletown area by addressing key issues in the community, utilizing multiple channels (social media, community gathering, campaigns, events, etc).
