Volunteer: Hospital Advocate for Survivors of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence.At Women Helping Women, we provide support services to ALL survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. We are looking for volunteers to provide hospital accompaniment to survivors! Our volunteers primarily provide hospital accompaniment to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Volunteers respond to the ER to be with a survivor while they get a sexual assault exam done, by providing emotional support as well as our and community resources. We respond to 8 hospitals in Butler County. Advocates/volunteers fill out an application (online application link), attend an interview with our volunteer coordinator, and must attend our mandatory 40-hour volunteer training that is offered in the spring and fall each year. Our next training begins the first week in March, spans two weeks (include weekend days and a few weekday evenings), and will be completed in 7 class sessions. After completing training, volunteers will be required to be on 2 on-call shifts per month. Each shift is 12 hours and is either from 6am-6pm OR 6pm-6am. Your shifts depend on your availability!
