Opportunities From: Community Connect

Here at Hospice of Cincinnati we like to provide our veteran patients with handmade patriotic pillowcases. We are looking for individuals or groups that are willing to sew and donate pillowcases for our veteran patients on an on-going basis. If you are interested please let me know and I will send you more information.

We are always looking for individuals or groups to donate to HOC Navigators. We know not everyone has the time to donate their time, but these small gestures never go unnoticed. - K-Cups and light snacks to provide to patient's families that come to visit loved ones in our Hospice of Hamilton IPCC Unit. K-Cups are a big need currently. 

- Quick & Clean Single Cup Brewer Cleaning Cups. Helps keep our Keurig clean. 

- Neck Pillows for patients.

- Bird Feeders and Bird Seed to placed outside the windows of patients. Patient's love to watch the birds outside their window.

- Books to be read to patients. 

- Single-use bottles of nail polish to paint patient's names with. 

- Holiday care packages (i.e. Valentines giftbags)

Long Term Care volunteers provide companionship to all HOC patients in a particular retirement community in your neighborhood 2-4 times per month. We are looking for volunteers all over Butler County. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please apply here on our website https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/volunteer/. All of our volunteers must going through an orientation process. Once you have complete that process you will be contacted about Long Term Care Volunteer opportunities. From there you will set your own schedule to visit at the long term care facilities. In a time of a person's greatest need they could use the kindness and compassion from a volunteer just like you. 

Home Care Volunteers are matched with a patient in their community that needs companionship or respite care 2-4 times per month. We can also use volunteers that are willing to helping patients with light housework and errands. We are looking for volunteers all over Butler County. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please apply here on our website https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/volunteer/. All of our volunteers must going through an orientation process. Once you have complete that process you will be contacted about Home Care Volunteer opportunities. From there you will reach out to the patient and schedule times to set up visits so the schedule is flexible. Our patients and their families could really use the kindness and the compassion of a volunteer just like you. Someone in your neighborhood could use a companion just like you. 

Volunteer Cosmetologists work directly with patients and their families providing cosmetology services. We are in need of cosmetologists willing to volunteer their time to go to patients homes and long term care facilities to provide haircuts for patients. In some cases this can be a person's last haircut, but it truly provides a sense of normalcy for our hospice patients. If you are interested once you have gone through our volunteering training process we will reach out to you with requests we have received from patients about haircuts. We are in desperate need for Cosmetologist volunteers for our Butler County region so even if you are not a licensed cosmetologists, but you know someone who is and would be willing to help please send them our way.
