Opportunities From: Community Connect

Volunteer: Outreach Volunteer (Summer Only)

About:

We need more than coaches to make First Tee possible. We rely on volunteers — sometimes year-round — to accomplish our mission, and not all of those goals involve golf. We also need support off the course to deliver our program to kids and teens in the community and recreation centers in our communities.

Responsibilities:

Outreach Volunteers assist the First Tee Staff, Coaches, and Youth Leaders at the center by: Providing basic sports instruction, monitoring safety zones, organizing groups, and leading activity stations.

Requirements:

The safety of our kids is our top priority. That is why all volunteers are required to complete a chapter provided background check, and, if applicable, Safesport Training before volunteering.

To get started, please visit the volunteer page on our website.

Available Opportunities:

Field Day Takeovers

Field Day Takeovers focus on bringing the First Tee experience to those without access to a golf course. We bring the equipment, staff, and volunteers to deliver an engaging program at a partner facility.

CRC Community Days with First Tee

First Tee has partnered with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Tony Yates Junior Golf Academy to host all-immersive life and golf skills program for kids and teens in recreation centers across Greater Cincinnati.

(New) Afternoon Community Golf Days – Reeves Golf Course

New for 2022 is the Afternoon Community Golf Days program. Like the morning session, First Tee will host kids and teens from recreation and youth centers. However, there will be a greater emphasis on goal setting, managing conflict, and dealing with diversity in addition to golf instruction.

Volunteer: Volunteer Coach (Spring/Summer/Fall)

About:

First Tee, we help kids discover what’s inside of them, guide them to strengthen it and mentor them to put it into action in everything they do.

To do this, we need enthusiastic and caring individuals to serve as positive mentors and role models to kids and teens of various backgrounds. Our coaches’ ability to develop impactful relationships with our participants is the backbone of our program.

You don’t have to be a golf pro (or even a good golfer), we will provide the training you need!

Responsibilities:

Volunteer Coaches on the golf course assist First Tee Head Coaches by: providing basic golf instruction, reinforcing class concepts (life skills), leading activity stations, and monitoring safety zones.

Requirements:

The safety of our kids is our top priority. That is why all volunteers are required to complete a chapter provided background check, Safesport Training, and waiver before volunteering.

To get started, please visit the volunteer page on our website.

Time Commitment:

Volunteer coaches can choose to participate in one or multiple weekly program sessions. Although we do ask that you are present for at least half of the session that you register for.

Spring (March – May): Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks for 45 minutes-1.5 hours, depending on the level. Monday-Saturday. Summer (June – August): Classes meet once or twice a week ranging for 45 minutes-3 hours, depending on the level. Sessions are 4, 6 or 8 weeks throughout the summer. Monday – Saturday. Fall (September – October): Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks for 45 minutes-1.5 hours, depending on the level. Monday-Saturday.

Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and early evening. We will work with you to find a fit for your schedule. Don’t have a lot of time to commit? No worries! You can volunteer on your own time as a substitute volunteer.
