GMVY Youth Miracle League

The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the baseball field. Since a main barrier for special needs children arises from the natural grass and dirt fields, Miracle League players play on a custom-designed, synthetic turf field that accommodates wheelchairs and other assertive devices while helping to prevent injuries for all players.

The GMV YMCA supports the Youth Miracle League in many ways, including providing Buddies for the players. The responsibilities of a Buddy are focused on: The safety of each player at all times during play and around the field. Providing an encouraging, interactive experience with each player before, during, and after the game. Enjoying the game of baseball together. Support the mission and purposes of the Great Miami Valley YMCA and the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields.
