Description

Morgan Township is in the process of creating a new community park and we are helping them by planting a rain garden. Rain gardens are designed to hold back water allowing it to gently soak into the ground, instead of running across the land inundating our creeks. Our goal is to capture rain water from their parking lot and part of the hillside. In addition, we will be using native plants. These native plants are great a great food source for our native wildlife such as monarch butterflies and birds.

When: May 21. We are starting at 5 pm, but join us whenever you can make it. We plan to work until about 8 pm.

Where: Morgan Township Community Park. Parking lot is behind the Twp Building

What: Help plant native plants in their new rain garden.

Who: Anyone, no gardening experience required.

What to bring: Gardening equipment such as trowels and knee pads if you have them. If not, we have some to share. Water bottle and sun protection.

We will bring: Extra tools and gloves. Water jug for refills and snacks.
