Vincentian Volunteers of Cincinnati-- Finance Support Specialist

In this position, you will assist the finance department in completing the month-end closing cycle, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. In addition, you will assist with fixed asset accounting and tracking, preparation of documentation for our annual financial audit, and daily thrift store sales reconciliation. This position will be part-time, coupled with another part-time position working directly with our neighbors in need.Position Responsibilities:Assist in completing month-end closing activities, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statementsReconcile daily sales and deposits for thrift stores from point-of-sale system to bankAssist in fixed asset accounting and tracking, including preparation of depreciation journal entrySummarize daily donor gifts from donor tracking softwareAssist with accounts payable processingSupport efforts in preparation for annual financial auditThis position is part of the Vincentian Volunteers of Cincinnati (VVC) program, a faith-based, year-long, residential service program, providing young professionals in their twenties an opportunity to grow in faith, friendship and service by giving deeply of themselves to their neighbors in need. VVC members serve full-time in a unique work placement with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. They live together in a house provided by the program, in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati, blocks from SVDP’s Outreach Center. The program is an 11-month commitment, running late August through late July and provides members with excellent professional experience in a supportive context. One hundred percent of VVC members finish the program with a meaningful next-step in their career.
