We need volunteers to help out every 2nd Tuesday of the Month. Volunteers will meet one of our ILA Representatives at the Shared Harvest Food Bank and assist with pantry shopping/delivery of commodity boxes. Commodity boxes are made up of a number of dried goods to help our seniors make it through the month along with meals on wheels and other nutritional supplements. All pantry orders are delivered to clients as well.
Volunteers must be able to lift heavy objects/boxes.
Volunteers must have reliable transportation.
Prefer volunteers that can work every Month.
About Independent Living Assistance:
Wesley Community Service's Independent Living Assistance (ILA) Program provides services that make it possible for seniors to remain self-sufficient at home and avoid institutional placement for as long as possible. Through the Wesley ILA Program, our clients receive personal assistance with household budgeting, bill review, necessary adjustments, payment clarification, banking, and applying for government programs such as Medicaid, subsidized housing, or food bank, commodity box applications.
ILA acts as a safety-net by addressing these essential life services that also include commodity and pantry delivery needs.
