Books and Brews!
Building Block events are our way of joining together with our neighbors throughout Butler County to give back in a way that will build a solid foundation for the future. Each Building Block event is tailored to one of the building blocks for a good life: Health, Financial Stability/Basic Needs, or Education.
Our 'Books and Brews' event will be held on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, where we will assemble literacy kits for young children. These educational kits will include the cookbook Our Family Favorites by Fran DeWine and Dolly Parton, donated on behalf of the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library program, and will be paired with the supplies needed to create homemade "PlayDough", a recipe for fun included within the cookbook and tailored to pre-school-aged children.
The finished literacy kits will be provided to the Butler County Educational Service Center to be distributed throughout their many early childhood education programs.
We invite you to join us by volunteering your time to build the kits. Municipal Brew Works has generously donated the space for our event; food and beverage are available for purchase.
This worthwhile event is sure to be enjoyable as we share some food and drink while we put together a fun and educational kit!
